Jan Funk

Jan brings more than 35 years of expertise to Unique Stitches’ custom sewing and embroidery projects. She is a fourth-generation seamstress, and an experienced business owner and manager. She has owned or managed several fabric stores in Oklahoma and Texas. Unique Stitches Inc. began as Fashions by Jan, a home sewing business, in the 1960’s. She is also a sales associate with Fabricut, Inc., the fifth largest fabric wholesaler in the world. Jan has served as a judge for the Wool Growers of America “Make It With Wool” competition for several years. Her creativity with needle and thread gives Unique Stitches its style and vision. Jan and Bud have been married for over 40 years. In her spare time, Jan has volunteered for the United Way’s “Day of Caring” for the past five years.

C. J. Bud Funk, CPA

Bud brings a wealth of experience in the management of finances, resources, and people to Unique Stitches. His background includes both business ownership and executive management positions with organizations in the oil, aerospace, education, retail, and construction industries as well as in the fabric and custom sewing fields. He is an active member in professional organizations for CPAs both locally and nationally in addition to membership in the National Network of Embroidery Professionals. Bud’s knowledge and experience gives Unique Stitches a solid business foundation. Bud is originally from Oklahoma City, and has also lived in Kansas, South Carolina, and Texas. He is one of 12 Eagle Scouts in the Funk family and has been an active Boy Scout leader for many years. In his spare time Bud enjoys traveling in his motor home, camping, wood working, and home improvements.

Tom Funk

Vice President, Operations

Tom brings a thorough education in technology along with experience in both engineering and sewing to Unique Stitches. He holds 3 degrees in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, and airframe & powerplant technology. Before joining Unique Stitches Inc., he worked for 9 years as a design engineer in the heavy equipment industry. He is proficient with drafting and design software as well as Wilcom Embroidery Design Digitizing software. Tom’s mechanical aptitude and versatility strengthen Unique Stitches’ core business and help it expand into related areas. Tom was born in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1971. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking, kayaking, camping, rock climbing, metalworking and electronics. Tom is one of 12 Eagle Scouts in the Funk family.

Kathy Pittenger

Kathy Pittenger is an OSU graduate, with a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and a Business Minor. By combining her savvy business sense and panache for great hospitality, she provides superior service to our customers and delivers the high-quality embroidery and design digitizing Unique Stitches’ customers have come to enjoy.

Kathy enjoys camping and cooking with her husband and high school sweetheart of 19 years and her fantastic 10-year-old son.

Dana Fransisco

Dana Fransisco owned and operated, Dana Designs, a successful embroidery and screen print shop in Coweta, OK. She excels at building relationships within the community and selling fine branded apparel. This caught the attention of Jan & Bud Funk of Unique Stitches, Inc. They were so impressed they decided to buy Dana Designs and free her from managing the store to sell full-time for both businesses.

Dana enjoys NASCAR, traveling, playing computer games and most of all her family – husband of 18 years, Jim, son Casey and daughter Jenna. Dana contributes her success to her family, for their support and to follow her dream.
